St. Martin vs. St. Thomas?

So, the fiancé and I are hoping to book our honeymoon hotel/resort accommodations pretty soon. We have been checking out options at both Saint Thomas Island and Saint Martin Island.

Neither of us have ever been to either Island, and don't know much about the two islands other that what we have seen on the internet.

Thank you to everyone who gave me input on the Dominican Republic. Shortly after looking at the DR I found another amazing place in Puerto Rico. So we are now booked for a 1bd condo at the Gran Melia, about 45 minutes away from San Juan. We are both really excited about our honeymoon now! :)
